Help for your e-Life
Geek Housecalls has been relieving technology frustration since 2001 for 20,000+ households in MA, NH & RI. We’re well known for our ability to solve computer problems but a little known fact is we’ve also been helping make our customer’s general electronic lives more manageable and stress-free too.
While the promises of your electronic life are compelling—accessing your data from anywhere (cloud computing), enjoying Internet-based entertainment in your living room (cutting the cable cord), controlling appliances and systems in your home when you’re away from it (home automation)—the realities are often problematic. These e-Life systems are often on the cutting edge, so keeping them trouble-free is challenging. And they rely on multiple vendors which too easily allows each to claim it’s the other vendor’s fault when something goes wrong.
This is where Geek Housecalls shines. Our specialty is helping manage and streamline your electronic life regardless of vendor: all the computers, smartphones, tablets, gaming systems, software, apps, WiFi and Internet access you rely on to be productive and entertained.
Wherever it’s most convenient—in your home, at our service center or online—we can setup, repair or teach almost any technology. Geek Housecalls: Help for your e-Life.

What’s New and What’s the Same
This new website and the ability to purchase services online is the most obvious among many dramatic changes we've undertaken to better serve our customers.
First and foremost is our new e-Life focus on helping customers with all the devices in their life: the computers, smartphones, tablets, gaming systems, software, apps, WiFi and Internet access they rely on to be productive and entertained.
Second, we have added two new exciting ways to help: in addition to our original Housecall and Drop Off Help, we now also provide Remote Help and Self-Help:
- Housecall Help – the convenient, personalized, in-home service that made us famous.
- Drop Off Help – our Burlington, MA service center offers most of the same services we can offer at home, but, thanks to economies of scale, at a potentially significant savings.
- Remote Help – Even though we make house calls seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. (and you don't pay extra for after-hours or weekend appointments) we know the problems can occur anytime. With our new annual or per incident Remote Help services, we're now available 24 x 7 x 365.
- Self-Help – There's a whole new series of training services available along with webinars & classes and free and premium do-it-yourself advice and tools.
And last but not least, while we still offer our services on an hourly basis, you’ll notice that we now have available a number of fixed-price, flat rate services—an option that many customers have been requesting for some time now.
And while there have been many exciting changes, some things have not. To learn more, please see founder Dave Ehlke's letter below.
A Letter from Dave Ehlke
When we started Geek Housecalls in 2001, high tech for individuals and families pretty much just meant computers and wired networks. In the nearly dozen years since, there’s been an explosion in the number of devices consumers rely on, where and why they’re used and how important they are to everyday life. It’s no longer just the computer in the home office, now it’s the Internet-based entertainment in the living room, home automation to control heat, light, security, and more throughout the home and smartphones and tablets that do amazing things and go everywhere.
That's why today, when it comes to consumer technology—computing & networking, smartphones & tablets and home entertainment & automation—Geek Housecalls can setup, repair or teach almost anything regardless of brand. And why we conveniently offer four different ways to help: (1)Housecall Help – the ultimate in convenience, (2)Drop Off Help – save at our Burlington, MA service center, (3)Remote Help – available online 24x7x365, (4)Self-Help - training, advice & tools so you can do-it-yourself.
So while both what we help with and how we can help has changed, our original goal in 2001—to relieve consumer’s frustrations with technology—is even more important today.
Thanks for letting us serve you! And I would really love to know what you think.

We Love to Hear from Our Customers
One of the best parts of our job is getting to talk with you when we come to your homes - and we love that you are willing to talk about us to your friends. See what some of our customers have to say about us, or leave a story about your last geek visit.
We Keep It Green!
While all of our e-Life gadgets do amazing things when they're working, when they're past their prime, you can't simply throw them in the trash (too many toxic heavy metals). So we're happy to make it easier to safely recycle old computer and electronics equipment.
