Customer Testimonials
Here's what your neighbors are saying about the Geek Housecalls experience...
Our geek installed a wireless network for our three computers so we could all simultaneously use the cable modem/Internet and helped me resolve a glitch that had prevented me from connecting to the Internet. He did a thorough, professional job and also provided a good deal of education in the process. I will heartily endorse your company to others based on our fine experience. Thoroughly professional and reliable! Geek Housecalls will not only do the job, but helpfully explain the work as they go. First-rate, and good guys!

This past Sunday, Nov 22, I got a nasty virus on my Lenovo laptop. It was a Trojan program that I picked up from the web - it gave me a virus and then offered an antivirus program to clean my computer. It interrupted all computer activity by blocking my ability to open any MS programs. Interestingly, my Norton antivirus told me my system was clean, even as the error message popped up all around. Wonderful.
I work from home and use my computer for both professional and personal tasks. As a one man shop, I don't have any IT support so I was in a very bad situation.
I left a voice mail for Geek Housecalls and also called Geek Squad. The Squad put me on hold three or four times as I got transferred around. When I finally spoke to a Geek Squad person, they said they could fix my problem and scheduled me for an appointment on Dec 7. A two-week wait!
On Monday morning, I received a call from Laurie, the Geek Housecalls dispatcher at about 8:30. She took down my info and said someone could be at my house that day between 3 and 5. Let's see. two week wait or same day service? Even better, she called back to offer an earlier window, which I took.
Bob was my Geek. He estimated an hour and a half to get the work done. It took exactly an hour and a half. He answered all my virus/Trojan/spyware questions, gave me some excellent tips on preventing the issue in the future and even downloaded a few new antivirus programs with instructions on when and how to run them. He was professional, informed and worked very quickly.
I wanted to let you know that your team did an outstanding job, from Laurie's first call to Bob's work on my computer. I would still be a week and a half away from my appointment with Geek Squad, so you should know you're well ahead of your competition. I will gladly refer your company if a friend needs similar help.
Have a great Thanksgiving.

Dear Geek Housecalls,
I just wanted to let you know that I had a great experience working with Ellen. When my hard drive suddenly crashed just before a major deadline, Ellen came to my rescue. Recognizing that I was beyond stressed-out, she made herself readily available to help me resolve all of the issues I was having as quickly as possible. She responded to my questions over email within minutes and she explained everything in a way that I - a complete computer novice - could understand. She also helped me make the most of the time I was paying for, and recommended the Emerald Plan which I really appreciated. Had she not, my computer crisis would have cost several hundred more dollars to resolve.
I will highly recommend Ellen and Geek Housecalls to everyone. She's fabulous and I will definitely request her for all my future computer needs!
Many thanks.
According to Esther B:
Since I'm not a computer expert, it was nice to have someone come in and not confuse me with his questions. My husband is partially handicapped due to Parkinson's Disease and having someone come to do repairs on our computers without confusing me is a pleasure.
Phyllis Chait says:
Bill knew exactly what to do & how to do it. When there was difficulty using a cd disc, he knew what to do & how to fix it without experimenting and trying various ways to solve the problem. He was not only knowledgeable & effecient, his attitude & patience was exceptional.
Benet Coleman writes:
Bob had an instant grasp of all my computer concerns. He cleaned and made some minor adjustments on a printer to save me the expense of buying a new one. He made a swift adjustment that permitted my computer to accept a crucial CD it had previously rejected. He "dusted" the innards of the computer, and walked me through the rationale and technique of disc defragmentation. In short, he got me "up and running" again with a minimum of muss, fuss, and bother. Bob is a delight to work with, and a credit to your organization. You have one happy customer here. I hope Bob will be available to come back on my next call.
Charlo Maurer says:
He not only solved my problem (and very quickly too), but he also helped me clean up my computer, making it faster and much more enjoyable to use. He was great.

YEAH, finally a service company that GETS it, that really knows what the customer wants!!! As soon as I called Geek Housecalls I knew I made the right choice. Ron, who took my call, was very helpful and our interaction was fun! Charles (our Geek) was VERY knowledgable, taking the time to explain things to us and REALLY opening our eyes to what's hiding deep within our computer (that was scary)! I have done nothing, since our service call, but RAVE at how wonderful of a service you provide. We WILL be calling for regular computer maintenance. Wonderful Service on all levels. Money Well Spent!! Talk to you all soon!!
According to Terry Rochford:
This is the second time you've worked a miracle for me on a failing hard drive. This time you were able to recover everything (OS, applications, data, the works) onto a replacement drive and get the machine back to me in perfect working order. It took a bit longer than I hoped, but the results were worth the wait. Thanks!
Roger Paine of The First Parish of Lincoln responds:
I had lost my Internet connection -- the reason why was a mystery, and Joe was able to get it back. Then, when I asked him who I might contact to give my laptop a "tune-up," he smiled and said, "I've already done it." And he showed me what he'd done. I was very impressed -- and thank you for creating this service.

As a father I was always able to help my kids with problems, (I was a hero, I could do anything) then they got to be teenagers, and all the problems got harder, but you and your company of Geeks recently made me a hero once more, because "I" recommended you to my daughter. Your people went to my daughters house this past weekend and pleasantly, efficiently and professionally fixed all her computer problems. I want to thank you for letting my daughter "think" I helped her, even if it was just to give her your number.

Pam Wheeler of Wellesley says: I was extremely pleased with Andy. You guys were my third attempt to find someone good. He was great and very responsive when I had continuing issues. So many of us have networks now or are just moms like me with no tech help desk and we are just floundering about using the kid down the street when he's free etc. I liked the idea Andy knew about networks, hardware, software etc. I felt this was a real service like the plumber or the interior decorator or the electrician, as opposed to a "guy" who just comes in that you pray has the skills. You might also make clear that you can consult on and install home networks, God knows I would have saved $$ if I'd used you in the first place.
L.C. a Business Owner from Billerica says this about Geek Housecalls service: Geek Housecalls beat the service from my entire corporate IT department. They arrived within the hour during a driving rainstorm, quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it and got me back to work in record time.
Susan W. Executive Director of a non-profit organization in Boston writes: Geek Housecalls is a group of skilled professionals who are tailor-made for us. They are happy to work with a very small organization, are reasonably priced and very patient and flexible.
Linda B. a church Office Manager from Cambridge says this about Geek Housecalls service: Prompt and personable response. Geek Housecalls never "talks down" to customers and provides as much technical information as is requested.
Rebecca S. a Clinical Psychiatrist from Lexington emails: My geek fixed the computer that had a virus and wasn't working. He ran the cable and networked a second computer into the cable [Internet] service. He got all our email accounts up and running, downloaded more recent Microsoft free software, fixed my monitor, and best of all, taught me a heck of a lot. He was awesome.
Ted B. of Arlington says this about Geek Housecalls service: Wednesday, I got hit with a virus identified as W32.Magistr.24876@mm. I had immediately run Norton Anti Virus, but I was concerned the following morning when I ran NAV again and it appeared again. My geek gave me answers to specific concerns I had, and found the .exe program and removed it from my system. He was prompt, friendly and competent.
